The man, the music, the legacy.
Join The Grand Tour for an evening celebrating the late, great king of country music, George Jones. This retrospective journey traces the Ol' Possum's remarkable career, from his early Hank Williams-inspired honky-tonk recordings through his "countrypolitan" era and his chart-topping duets with fellow country royalty.
Between the hits, lead singer and creator Larry Tobias shares stories and reflections, including memories of meeting George himself. Larry first stepped into George's shoes on the national tour of Stand By Your Man: The Tammy Wynette Story. He's backed by a band of seasoned Broadway and national touring musicians on fiddle, lap steel, harmonica, and more. The result is an electrifying night of REAL country music, made famous by the king of REAL country music, for fans of REAL country music!
You'll hear favorites like 'White Lightning', 'The Race Is On', 'She Thinks I Still Care', 'A Good Year for the Roses', 'The Grand Tour', and 'He Stopped Loving Her Today'.
