Life, Liberty and The Pursuit of Nappyness: Kentucky’s own Nappy Roots brings their signature Southern hip-hop to The Millwald stage! Since breaking onto the scene in 1998, the group has built a loyal following with honest lyrics, feel-good grooves, and undeniable Southern swagger. Their breakout album Watermelon, Chicken & Gritz sold over 3 million copies and gave us hits like “Po’ Folks” and “Awnaw,” and their song “Good Day” went gold to celebrate 20 years in the game. With seven studio albums, more than a dozen mixtapes, and over 40 placements in movies and commercials, Nappy Roots has stayed true to their roots, going independent, launching their own Atlantucky Brewing Company, and never losing touch with the fans who’ve been with them from the start. Come ready to sing along to the classics and celebrate one of the most genuine groups in hip-hop!
