Be Part of the
Magic at Millwald Theatre
Why Volunteer?
At Millwald Theatre, our volunteers are the heart and soul of the experience. When you join our team, you’re helping bring live performances, community-education events, and special programs to life in our historic downtown venue.
Our volunteers are the heart of everything we do… It’s a great way to meet new people, enjoy live performances, and make a difference.
By giving a few hours of your time, you’ll connect with fellow arts-enthusiasts, gain behind-the-scenes access, and take part in making our theatre a welcoming gathering place for the community.
What You’ll Do
We offer a variety of fun and impactful roles—no previous experience required! Some of the ways you can help include:
Ushering – Greeting guests, showing them to their seats, distributing programs, making sure everyone has a comfortable experience.
Ticket-Scanning & Guest Services – Welcoming patrons at the door, scanning tickets, answering questions about the venue or show.
Concessions & Hospitality Support – Helping make and/or serve popcorn or snacks, supporting our lobby operations.
Special Events Support – From community screenings to haunted-house events and live concerts, volunteers assist in making each event run smoothly.
Commitment & Eligibility
Here’s what to expect:
Minimum age: 16 years old (or specify if younger volunteers are allowed with guardian)
One shift per month (approx. 3-4 hours) with the opportunity to pick up extra shifts for bigger events
Willingness to stand or walk for the duration of the shift, and comfortable being in a public-facing role
Orientation/training session (about 1 or 2 hours) to get familiar with the theatre, your role, and guest-service expectations
Dress code: Smart casual (e.g., black slacks, theatre-appropriate top, closed-toe shoes). We'll provide a branded Millwald Vest.
